As in:
A recent re -enactment featuring chaos created intense distress, rupturing her tranquil existence. In the blink of an eye the world again seemed an alarming place.

As in:

She was not feeling particularly resilient. As a matter of fact she was feeling the exact antonym. Strained, deformed, ruptured, vulnerable, distressed.

As in:
She was especially vexed and chagrined that her life long companion, Resiliency, seemed to have  chosen this specific time for holiday! {side note~if S learns that R is laying on a warm, sunny beach during this time of critical need, R will definitely be de-friended)

To be Resilient~

3. (v. i.) To spring, or rise, as a consequence, from facts, arguments, combination of circumstances, consultation, thought, or endeavor.

4. (n.) A flying back; resilience.

As in:

Her characteristic ability to quickly rebound has taken sabbatical. In the meantime, choosing this day to press in, press on and {paraphrasing others} to live happily ever after… in the moment…one day at a time…toward victory… no matter what.
