Life is too valuable to get weighed down in the daily grind. Yet we do. Life is too tenuous, uncertain, fleeting; yet we take it for granted.
Yesterday we chose to slow down and enjoy.
Anyone who knows, understands that there rarely has to be a ‘reason’ to celebrate, Your child lost a tooth? Yippee! There’s a sale today? WooHoo! You gained a pound? Let’s celebrate now as a warm up for when you lose it again!
Write it on Your Heart, that every day is the Best day in the year~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Yesterday there was a party of remembrance across the hall. Room 203 to be exact. The usual place of meetings. Where decisions and discussions and ideas are discussed, became for a time , lovely.
Did I mention we baked?
(well, some of us baked. some of us gave thanks for bakeries, but that is tomorrow’s story)
We reminisced and told stories. We rediscovered the beauty in the day. In the past , the present. In each other.
We enjoyed friends, coworkers, and each other. (and a little bit of March Maddness on those tiny screens. Who knew!)
We looked back…..but most importantly we looked ahead. Yesterday while there was a party across the hall, I was reminded that in honoring our memories and common ground we find unity and peace.
Until next time…Celebrate something.
