Shandra Lee. With Heart Wide Open. A Miracle In The Making.

Mother’S Day Eve (day) . Last Sunday I mentioned  a worthy cause as an option for donating to honor Mom. (or Auntie, Sister, Niece) I love a great, well- thought out gift (flowers, perfume , a basket of what nots and what have yous)  and I certainly don’t want to interfere with the economic upswing so, neatly tucked into the newly purchased Hallmark Card was a lovely letter personalized and provided by The Sunshine Project announcing a small donation in honor of my own Mother.

The Sunshine Project: Bringing light into delivery rooms (in honor of Mothers Day

Here’s the link above^ It’s not too late to donate to the charity of your choice. Your Mom would surely be honored. (And what better way to economically impact a life than to donate?)

While looking over Adriel’s blog I came across this project … Umi’s story and Project Baby Bilum as well as the update on delivery of numerous baby slings. Take a look at ‘The Mama Community’.  Just click on one of the links.

Keeps it all in perspective. Our opulent, over indulgent  First World resources sometimes blind us to the real life struggles and needs elsewhere around the Globe. As you slip into your Sunday Finest, think of these humble yet proud faces.^ Enjoy Your Mother’s Day and weekend. I know I will.

Shandra~~I’ll be taking some time off this week to celebrate Mom’s Day and a Season of New Beginnings.

Tomorrow Part 1 of a guest post on Leadership. You don’t want to miss it.

  1. What a wonderful invention is the solar powered anything from roof tops to a suitcase to bring light to the delivery room. What a lovely gift to honor a mother by giving to help other mothers to be. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.

  2. What a wonderful idea and suggestion! Mothers are the most giving creatures on earth, and the most thoughtful, too. To help other mothers in need is such a wonderful privilege. Thank you for sharing this…I had never heard of it. God bless you. 🙂
