There are times in Life when you know you need to go, move on, but familiar seems better.
The routine, faces, traditions are somehow comforting.
Or perhaps breaking the ties, making a move, seems just too painful.
These former (Willamette) Valley Girls above (and probably you!) have a ‘comfort’ story.
A: “Dear God, this Is NOT The Way I thought It Would Look” chapter.
Yet, here we are smiling, again.
The appointments God arranges are truly amazing.
HE makes me smile.
All the time.
What can I say?
God is good.
All the time.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of the enemy: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

5 Lessons from our Wisdom for your Embrace:
*know when to go. Our presence should never be a distraction from HIS.
*know when to speak, know when to be silent. If God has not released you to share your story DON”T. ****
*God IS good. even when we are not.
*know when to stand. Pray. stay. Your Faith may be just what that next person needs. right. now.
*Celebrate. stop dragging your feet & embrace where you are. right. now. You’re saved. You’re new. and who knows? your new place may just have a choir. 😉 Rejoice!
and just for free #6:
*you have the enemy come to Kill, Steal and Destroy (John 10:10)- whispering you’re too far. made too many mistakes. you’re too old. (Anyone?) you’re too young (Anyone?). Man, YOU messed up. OR perhaps you, much like Mark Hurd, feel you haven’t done anything. (oh, You’re The Golden Child?! that in itself might be a weensie problem. Just sayin’)
Hear this, Reading Friend, The good things you’ve done for Christ’s kingdom, will stand. You’ll be forgotten. Replaced. that’s Life! but what you’ve done in good, right, pure for Christ WILL not be discounted where it counts. The Right Hand of God. Romans 8:34 and who knows….You may even receive Promotion!
*“Never stay where you are simply tolerated. Never stay where you’ve cause to question your worth. Only Live where you thrive. Only Live where you can celebrate and are celebrated.” slwh
GOD has BIG plans for YOU. #MoveOn
***if you’re withholding information or a story that would other wise be necessary-important another person’s future, safety OR tip them one direction to make a decision (yay or nay) that IS not GOD”s will for you to do so, you’re playing God, not being discrete. Repeat NOT. I can think of the obvious-your best friend is dating a known child molester, bigamist, porn star, professional heart-breaker or murderer. No brainer! Do everyone a favor, be the bigger & tell what you know to the person who needs to hear.
If you know your friend-relative or colleague is dating a secret smoker, gambler, porn addict, strip club star, deeply in debt, or any other compromising life?? (including workaholic, professional “relaxer” or smart-phone addict!) If it’s ever ME please be the bigger. Tell me with love, that I may make an informed decision about my future. Deal?
It’s not our job to solve or fix- PLEASE leave that to God, Jesus & Holy Spirit. Simply empower people to make the next informed decisions. You’ll be very glad you did. (and they will be, guaranteed.)
What you allow into your life will be much different than I. Watching/reading the swim suit issue of Playboy, Sports Illustrated or Miss Hooters (notta!) OR Chainsaw massacre 12 OR the House Wives of… may be culturally acceptable, but NOT my idea of literature or entertainment. Not acceptable, to me. Just wont be in my life or of interest in the lives folks I hang out with.
Studying the Word of God daily, transparent church family, authentic friends & community will be. Intelligent. Wholesome. Balanced. No apologies.
Now your turn, How about you? Anything you’d like to share or add…Life Lessons learned? We’d love to hear!
