moon-and-sky1ff

On the waves of dusk like feather pillow puffs, wispy clouds dance peek a boo with the rising moon. Screeching tentacled branches grasp, as if to suction the life from anything within reach. Howling winds die down only rise again with their banshee scream.

How long has he waited? For the ecstacy of sweet release. Death. Darkness. Freedom. Plunging now headlong upward. Scrambling for breath. For existence. As a man suddenly fighting to surface, too long in the depths of murky waste. Gasping to Live. Too late has his fight changed. His will to live now strong. Death will not be cheated.

  1. You have such an amazing way with words, Shandra. Truly a gift…thank you for sharing it here. And thank you for stopping by my blog…your comment was an encouragement to me. 🙂

  2. Vivid seems to be the word of the day here – great descriptions, really dynamic with a sense of motion, movement and violent struggle. Loved it.

Couple of small typos – I think the for after the question mark should be upper-case (“How long has he waited? For…”). And also in the second paragraph, you’ve capitalised Live twice (gasping to Live…, will to Live…) – was this intended?

    • Spot on observation. Thanks for taking time! My though on the second capital Live was for emphasis. Obviously a distraction instead. Correcting them now. Much appreciated. See you next week @ #FF.
